Women Making Waves

In honor of International Women’s Day this month (March 8th), we wanted to highlight our amazing women-owned and run business here at Little Fins Swim School.

Little Fins is a woman-owned family business, and family is the focal point of everything we do. Our owner, Lauri Armstrong, has a passion for building workplaces where women thrive, grow and achieve. She is a leader in the field and a leader in our community. Not only is Little Fins 100% managed by women, our team is 90% female.

Women are pioneers in the swim school industry.  Rolling Stone Magazine reported, “While it is true that the different experiences and backgrounds that women and men have undoubtedly affect business approaches, this is actually a good thing. A business with diverse perspectives is an innovative business that can actually push the boundaries of industries.”

The accomplishments of Little Fins did not happen overnight. Lauri worked directly with every facet of the business, from teaching swim lessons, to customer service, scheduling, hiring, marketing, and every other detail that comes with running a successful business. She was recently quoted in an interview with ShoutOut Colorado Magazine saying, “In the beginning it was a lot of hustle and grind.” Throughout the years Lauri has imparted her passion and  leadership onto her management team and entrusting the day-to-day operations to her team.

The little Fins management team is 100% Female. These ladies make a huge impact both in and out of the pool.

“Little Fins Swim School is our family’s dream and passion. We have taken water safety and survival to the next level, and had a true effect in our community as a leader in water safety, drowning prevention, swimming skills, and developmental learning through water exposure,” said Lauri.

What started as a love of water, lifeguarding, and teaching kids, developed into a successful women-owned and operated business. This female team is making big waves in our community and beyond.
