5 Hacks to Stay Warm After Swim in the Winter

Our parents are so smart and we have been watching them. Here are 5 hacks to keep your child warm after swim lessons, especially in the cold winter months.

  1. Blow dry your child's hair and take advantage of snuggle time!

Travel-size blow dryers are an inexpensive, compact investment and can easily be stowed away in your child’s swim bag. While taking the dampness out of their hair, the heated air helps them warm-up quickly. You can use the blow dryers we have, or bring a beanie or winter water to cover their heads before leaving.

  2. Pack warm snuggly, polar fleece pajamas to wear instead of the street clothes they wore to the pool.

  3. Bring a robe or a Little Fins Poncho Towel for getting out of the pool.

Ask your instructor if you’d like to purchase one of our hooded, super-soft and snuggly poncho towels. Supplies are limited, so get one before they are gone!

  4. Have your child wear a wetsuit instead of a regular swimsuit to keep their core body temperature up.

Wetsuits work by trapping a thin layer of water between the suit and skin, which warms by body heat.

  5. Bring a thermos full of hot chocolate for after swimming. This is a great way to warm kids up quickly and it can double as a sweet treat for a job-well-done at lessons.
