Swim & Save Flex Lessons
At Little Fins Swim School, we recognize that not every family needs year-round lessons right now. Maybe you’re testing whether your child is ready for formal instruction, or perhaps you want to maintain skills over summer break without the structure of weekly commitments. You might be filling gaps between other activities or simply working with a budget that makes monthly plans feel out of reach. That’s exactly why Little Fins created Swim & Save flex lesson packages. Swim & Save is structured, quality private swim instruction delivered at a more accessible price point, designed specifically for families who need swimming lessons on their own terms rather than someone else’s calendar.
Here’s what makes this different from both drop-in lessons and traditional monthly plans: you purchase a package of lessons at a discounted rate, then schedule them within a 30-day window at designated times that work for newer instructors building their teaching experience. Your child receives the same focused, one-on-one attention that defines Little Fins instruction. The trade-off for the lower price is flexibility on your end regarding instructor assignment and booking times.
Swim & Save Package Options
All Swim & Save packages expire 30 days from purchase. Discount only applies to Swim & Save slots (non-peak times with newer instructors).
Colorado Springs families use Swim & Save packages for different reasons. Whatever brings you to this option, Swim & Save delivers something valuable: real swimming progress through private instruction, structured to fit the way busy families actually live rather than how lesson plans wish they would.
Ready to try flexible private lessons? Call Little Fins Swim School at (719) 344-5328 or schedule your Swim & Save package online today.
How Swim & Save Packages Work for Busy Families
Understanding the structure of Swim & Save helps you decide whether this option matches your family's needs and goals. Here's what the package actually includes and how the booking process works.
Package Options and Pricing
Little Fins offers Swim & Save in multiple package sizes, allowing you to choose the number of lessons that fits your timeline and budget. Each package provides private, one-on-one instruction at a discounted rate compared to standard single-lesson pricing. The more lessons you purchase in a package, the greater the savings per lesson.
All lessons in your package must be scheduled and completed within 30 days of purchase. This window keeps instruction consistent enough for skill development while providing the flexibility that monthly recurring plans don’t offer. You’re not locked into the same weekly time slot, but you do need to plan ahead to use your lessons before they expire.
Instructor Assignment and Scheduling
Swim & Save lessons are taught by Little Fins instructors who are developing their teaching skills and building client rosters. These team members have already completed Little Fins training and are ready to work independently with swimmers. What they’re building is experience with different age groups, swimming abilities, and teaching scenarios that make instructors truly excellent over time.
Because Swim & Save supports instructor development, you won’t select a specific instructor when booking. Lessons are assigned based on instructor availability within the designated Swim & Save time slots. This assignment system allows newer instructors to fill their schedules while offering families reduced pricing.
Designated Swim & Save time slots appear when you book through our client scheduling portal. These are typically non-peak hours when our more established instructors have full lesson schedules. You’ll see available times and can choose what works for your family within those options.
Booking and Cancellation Policies
You schedule Swim & Save lessons through the same Pike13 system used for all Little Fins scheduling. After purchasing your package, you’ll log into your account and book from available Swim & Save time slots at either the Garden of the Gods or Union Boulevard location.
Little Fins’ standard 24-hour cancellation policy applies to Swim & Save packages. Life happens, schedules change, and we understand that. If you need to cancel or reschedule, do so at least 24 hours before your lesson time and you’ll retain that lesson in your package.
Cancellations or reschedule requests made within 24 hours of the lesson incur a $20 fee, and that lesson counts as used from your package.
Plan your Swim & Save bookings with some buffer room in your schedule. Since lessons must be completed within 30 days and booking happens in non-peak slots, waiting until the last few days of your expiration window might mean limited availability.
What Happens During Lessons
Swim & Save lessons follow the same format as standard private lessons at Little Fins. Your child receives 30 minutes of focused, one-on-one instruction in our heated indoor pools. The instructor assesses your child’s current abilities, works on specific skills appropriate for their level, and provides feedback about progress and what comes next.
Parents can watch from the pool deck, ask questions before or after the lesson, and receive updates about what their child is working on. The only difference between Swim & Save and traditional private lessons is the pricing structure and instructor assignment, not the quality of instruction or attention your child receives.
What Parents Should Know Before Purchasing Swim & Save
Walking into any new program comes with questions. Here's the practical information that helps families decide whether Swim & Save matches their needs.
Who Benefits Most from Swim & Save
Swim & Save works exceptionally well for specific situations. Families trying Little Fins for the first time appreciate the lower commitment level before deciding whether to move into monthly lesson plans. Parents managing unpredictable schedules use packages to maintain swimming skills during transitional periods without the pressure of weekly recurring lessons.
Children who swim recreationally rather than competitively often thrive with Swim & Save pacing. If your goal is water safety and comfortable swimming rather than stroke perfection or competitive training, package-based lessons provide sufficient practice frequency. Families on tighter budgets find Swim & Save creates access to quality private instruction that fits their financial reality.
This format also serves families well during specific seasons. Summer break, when kids are out of school and schedules open up, is perfect for Swim & Save packages. Similarly, families use packages to bridge gaps between monthly plan cycles or to supplement other aquatic activities like recreational swimming or water sports.
When Monthly Plans Might Be Better
If your child is working toward specific competitive goals or needs highly consistent instruction for skill retention, monthly recurring lessons with the same instructor may provide better continuity. Young children, particularly those under five, often progress faster with the routine and familiarity of seeing the same instructor weekly at the same time.
Swimmers with special needs or specific anxieties around water typically benefit from consistent instructor relationships that monthly plans provide. The predictability helps these swimmers feel secure and make steady progress. Swim & Save can work for these families, but understand that changing instructors between packages may require some adjustment period.
Location and Facility Access
Swim & Save lessons are available at both Little Fins locations: Garden of the Gods and Union Boulevard. Both facilities maintain heated indoor pools at 94 degrees, providing comfortable swimming conditions year-round regardless of Colorado Springs weather.
When booking Swim & Save lessons, you’ll select your preferred location and see available time slots for that facility. You can mix locations within a single package if that works better for your schedule, scheduling some lessons at one location and others at the second.
Little Fins provides changing areas, showers, and viewing spaces at both locations. Plan to arrive no earlier than 15 minutes before your scheduled lesson time. After the lesson ends, please exit the facility promptly to allow the next group to begin on time.
Combining Swim & Save with Other Programs
Swim & Save packages can supplement other Little Fins programs. Families enrolled in monthly lesson plans sometimes purchase Swim & Save packages for additional practice during intensive learning periods. Parents who want more frequent lessons temporarily can layer Swim & Save on top of their regular schedule.
If you’re interested in other Little Fins programs, Swim & Save serves as a great introduction. Many families start with a package, discover their child loves lessons, and transition into monthly plans with a regular instructor. Similarly, families can try Swim & Save between ending one program and starting another, maintaining skills without long-term commitment.
For families specifically focused on survival skills for young children, Little Fins also offers Infant Survival Swim Lessons using the Swim-Float-Swim method for infants 6 months and older. Parents seeking group experiences can explore Aqua Babies parent-participation lessons.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I request a specific instructor for Swim & Save lessons?
No, instructor selection isn’t available with Swim & Save packages. Lessons are assigned based on instructor availability within the designated time slots. This structure allows newer instructors to build their teaching rosters while offering families discounted pricing. If having a specific instructor is important for your child’s learning, monthly recurring lesson plans include instructor selection.
What happens if my child doesn't use all lessons within 30 days?
Unused lessons expire after 30 days from purchase date and cannot be refunded or extended. We recommend booking your first few lessons immediately after purchasing your package, then scheduling remaining lessons with enough buffer time to account for potential cancellations or schedule changes. The 30-day window provides flexibility while ensuring instruction remains consistent enough for skill development.
How do Swim & Save instructors compare to other Little Fins instructors?
All Little Fins instructors complete the same training program and meet the same teaching standards regardless of experience level. Swim & Save instructors are newer team members building their teaching experience and client base. They possess the knowledge and skills to teach effectively; they’re developing the nuanced expertise that comes from working with hundreds of different swimmers across various abilities and ages. Many families find Swim & Save instructors bring enthusiasm and attentiveness that makes lessons engaging and productive.
Can I upgrade from Swim & Save to a monthly lesson plan?
Absolutely. Many families start with Swim & Save packages to try Little Fins, then transition to monthly recurring plans once they’re ready for consistent weekly instruction. Contact Little Fins at (719) 344-5328 to discuss transitioning to a monthly plan. Your child’s Swim & Save instructor can provide recommendations about which lesson format and frequency would serve your child’s goals best.
What if I need to cancel a lesson with less than 24 hours notice?
Cancellations or reschedule requests made within 24 hours of the scheduled lesson time incur an additional fee, and that lesson counts as used from your package. We understand emergencies happen, but the 24-hour policy helps us maintain instructor schedules and offer those time slots to other families. Set calendar reminders for your lessons and cancel as early as possible if your plans change.
