Floating Sound Bath Sessions
Little Fins Swim School specializes in swim lessons for Colorado Springs families, but our heated pools offer more than just a place to learn water safety. Water’s natural buoyancy and the way it conducts sound create unique conditions for relaxation, which is why we’ve added floating sound baths to our offerings.
You’ll recline on a water hammock or air mattress in our heated pool while carefully selected instruments create waves of sound that travel through the water and into your body. It’s part meditation, part sensory therapy, and entirely unlike anything you’ve probably experienced before.
Ready to experience deep relaxation? Call Little Fins Swim School at (719) 344-5328 or check our events page to find upcoming floating sound bath sessions.
What Happens During a Floating Sound Bath
Floating sound bath sessions take place in our private heated pools at our Union Boulevard location. When you arrive, you’ll change into your swimsuit and enter water that’s maintained at a comfortable temperature designed for extended floating without any chill.
You’ll settle onto a water hammock or air mattress that supports your body while keeping you partially submerged. No swimming required, and no treading water. The water does all the work of holding you up, allowing muscles throughout your body to fully release in a way that’s difficult to achieve on land. Once everyone is positioned and comfortable, the sound portion begins. Sessions feature instruments like singing bowls, chimes, gongs, or other tools chosen specifically for their resonant qualities and healing vibrations.
The result is a meditative state that often feels more accessible than traditional sitting meditation. Your body receives clear signals to relax, supported by water, surrounded by intentional sound, in an environment designed entirely for rest rather than productivity. Many participants describe feeling the sounds moving through their chest, settling into areas of tension, or creating wavelike sensations throughout their body.
Sessions last approximately 60 to 60 minutes and are open to adults seeking stress relief, better sleep, mental clarity, or simply a unique wellness experience. The environment remains quiet and intentional throughout, with facilitators present to guide the experience and ensure everyone’s comfort.
Why Choose Little Fins for Floating Sound Bath Experiences
At Little Fins, we already maintain pools designed for year-round comfort and safety. We understand water temperature regulation, acoustics in aquatic environments, and how to create spaces where people feel genuinely at ease. Bringing sound healing into this setting lets us offer something most wellness centers simply can’t replicate.
Water Amplifies the Experience
Sound vibrations travel through water and into your body with an intensity and depth that many participants find deeper than dry-land sound baths.
True Physical Support
Floating on a water hammock allows every muscle to release in ways that lying on even the most comfortable mat cannot achieve.
Private, Heated Indoor Facilities
Both our Garden of the Gods and Union Boulevard locations offer climate-controlled pools where you can float comfortably regardless of Colorado weather outside.
Experienced, Intentional Facilitation
Our sound bath sessions are led by practitioners who understand both the therapeutic aspects of sound healing and the practical realities of guiding experiences in aquatic environments. Your safety and comfort remain priorities throughout.
Accessible Pricing
At $50 per session, floating sound baths offer genuine value for a unique wellness experience.
Deep Nervous System Reset

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to know how to swim to participate in a floating sound bath?
No. You’ll be supported by a water hammock or air mattress that keeps you floating comfortably without any swimming required. The water is warm and calm, and facilitators remain present throughout the session. If you have significant water anxiety, we’re happy to discuss what the experience involves so you can decide if it’s right for you.
What should I wear and bring to a floating sound bath?
What you wear depends on the floating option used during your session. If you’re floating on an air mattress above the water, we recommend wearing comfortable clothes that allow you to fully relax. Many participants also bring a blanket, small pillow, or any comfort items that help them feel cozy while floating. If you’re floating in a water hammock, you’ll be partially submerged, so you’ll need to wear a swimsuit and bring a towel. A robe or warm layers are great to have for after the session.
For all sessions, we recommend avoiding heavy meals right before your sound bath, as deep relaxation immediately after eating can sometimes feel uncomfortable.
How often are floating sound baths offered?
Sessions are scheduled periodically throughout the year rather than on a fixed weekly schedule. To stay updated on upcoming floating sound bath dates, check our events page or sign up for our newsletter. Sessions fill quickly, so we recommend booking as soon as dates are announced.
What if I fall asleep during the session?
Many people do drift into sleep-like states during floating sound baths, and that’s completely fine. The water hammock keeps you safely supported, and facilitators monitor all participants throughout the session. Some of the deepest restoration happens in those states between waking and sleeping, so if your body needs rest, let it rest.
